Captain Don’s Sportfishing

With over 30 years on Kauai (15 fishing Hawaii waters) and has been fishing since the age of five, Captain Donald Jones and his 39-foot Hatteras boat, with all of the electronic and safety equipment necessary for a few hours on the water, are the perfect guides to take you and a small group from the Nawiliwili Small Boat Harbor in Lihue. Be prepared to catch, to name a few, mahi-mahi, dorado, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, marlin, barracuda, and giant trevally. You could come back from your Captain Don’s sportfishing charter with enough fish for a week!
Maximum six passengers for four-, six-, and eight-hour charters. Don’s policy: you keep catches under 25 lbs.; over that limit, stays with the boat. Shared trips share the total catch!
Ohana Fishing Charters
Allowing you to fish in the heavily populated waters off Kapa’a on the east side of Kauai, Ohana Fishing Charters carries you on a custom 30-foot by 10-foot Wilson. The vessel is more expansive than most other deep-sea fishing boats on Kauai and equipped with top-of-the-line fishing and other equipment.

Deep-Sea Fishing Kauai
Leaving from the southwest side of Kauai, where Tradewind-driven waves are not experienced as on the north/east side, Captain J’s Deep Sea Fishing charters can be booked on one of three vessels: the flagship 1976 31-foot Bertram Custom Sport Fisher; the refitted and completely refurbished 32-foot Blackfin that moves smoothly through the water; and the 2019-remodeled 31-foot Bertram Sport Fisher for a stable, powerful ride.
Deep-Sea Fishing Kauai emphasizes FISHING; this means a smaller but faster vessel that gets you to where the fish are more quickly, so you have more time to do what you came to do, namely catch fish, rather than eating up time on the trip there and back. There’s also a vast deck space and increased stability for bigger catches.
In addition to the usual durations for fishing charters as indicated in the previous companies, Captain J’s also offers a 10-hour private charter. The captain is happy to carry a single passenger or book all three charter boats for a party of up to 18.
